OSCE Transfusion Reaction Mx


An OSCE case where a consultant advises an RMO managing a 26-year-old woman who develops nausea and fever during her second unit of blood transfusion. Candidates must identify a possible transfusion reaction, stop the transfusion, order appropriate investigations (repeat group, Coombs, FBE, haptoglobin), provide symptomatic care, consider differentials, and contact haematology for advice.
