OSCE TCA Overdose


An OSCE case where a consultant provides case-based teaching to a registrar following a mixed TCA and benzodiazepine overdose. Candidates must explain TCA toxicity mechanisms, recognise ECG changes, outline management with sodium bicarbonate, discuss endpoints (QRS < 140 ms, pH 7.5–7.55), and highlight when to escalate to toxicology or ECMO.
